Can The Chinese Succeed At An Industrial Revolution?

I'm not so certain about the success of a nation or country that has failed so many times.  I'm still wondering if I am in a dream for it was in a reality world of mine when I knew I was not dreaming and there I was at work close to retirement as a postal worker apologizing to my coworker for being born Chinese!  They knew what I was talking about my fellow coworkers and they were so sympathetic toward my plight of racial inequity as seen in particular racial groups.  It just cannot be ignored  although I know masses of categories of people who know so little about the American Civil War the war which had the largest casualties in all of the American wars.  For me it was mandatory to be in school and study the offered course in the Oakland public school system and I did to the best of my ability.  I was so honored having been seated at a community college next to a neighbor of mine where I grew up in Oakland his name being Robert Pon a  person of color like me of Chinese ethnicity because he was one of the few Chinese that could get a 4.0 grade point average at Oakland Technical High School way back in the 1960's and to me this was not a disgrace.  He explained to me at the time he had taken economics at the University of Berkeley which gave him a leg up on the economics class he was taking with me at the local community college in Oakland.  At that particular class of economic I knew him as many of my classmates did that he was acing out in that class too or in other words he was getting a top grade in our class.  He had a track record of getting top grades in school and he came from the same neighborhood as I did on the very same street.  I  struggled through that class in economics nevertheless which was a transferable class to the University of California, Berkeley.  Through grades in high school and a local community college I was admitted to the University of Berkeley at various times through grades rather than through the standardized testing such as the SAT.  Bill Gates aced out on the SAT as a vast number of us know.  If we all concentrated on setting our goals as being as successful as Bill Gates perhaps I think this world would be in utter turmoil.  It is not going to happen.  If I believed it to be true I would be delusional and I know I can feel in a good mood when I believe in the impossible.  Okay let me get to the point.  I'm reading into the mainstream of the reporting of the news not just by the professional journalist on radio and television with whom I have interacted live on the air with as an anonymous talk show caller but I am also reading into the reactions of the common person on the street like myself.  Top professional news journalists like Ronn Owens who is a star on KGO radio 810 discusses the news originally a local San Francisco Bay Area radio station who is known very well here in my region or area is listened more to here than Russ Limbaugh the most listened to radio talk show host.  The question is am I being delusional in believing that the country of China could be on the road to another dynasty even if it means to world importance?  Don't tell me the San Francisco Forty Niners never became a dynasty as a football team because we have many witnesses who saw glory and victory and San Francisco did not do it this year but looked like they were on the road again toward gaining another dynasty.  The question is will such champions repeat and do it again?  China has suffered too many failures and will never see another dynasty again.  I love it sometimes when I wrong.  I think China if it were to have a mind of intelligence it would want a world to benefit and not just one country a dominant power structure but everyone.

Did Parkinson's Affect Hitler's Judgement?

From my previous posting of whether Parkinson's disease affects my game in online chess I noticed I received the highest page views for that  posting in the blog of mine Nerves Galore.  Don't mind me saying so that I don't mind getting a Pulitzer Prize for writing this blog  and what I write can be widely reviewed and regarded as worthy throughout the world.  But I do say I have a   relative who says I suffer from a state of delusion or was it illusion I forget so easily but my first girlfriend said the same thing.  How dare they accuse me of of such a malady when in fact I am enjoying  this state of delusion or illusion so long as I am not hurting anyone!  Getting to my point if anyone is to judge Adolph Hitler it is I for one like Hitler I have Parkinson's and I think about Hitler often and if he or his son were alive today….sometimes it would better off if I declared myself as a writer of science fiction than a novice writer of the news of the day in this way I would not   appear insane.  But let me make it known Hitler did have Parkinson's at the time he was in power and he can sue me if this is untrue!  What if his colleagues had known about this state of his health at this time would they have withdrawn the  powers that they gave to their fearless leader Hitler?  Would Hitler have gained an edge in the Normandy Invasion to the point of even winning the second World War and would I a full blooded Chinese be speaking German instead of writing and speaking English?  Think of it.  And yes this is all absurd and if you were to be playing a serious game of chess in this manner of thinking you would surely lose. Possess a sense of humor for in this world without it then you will surely die.  Parkinson's is a serious diseases and throughout history people would kill themselves rather than live with it but in the case of Hitler he of course shot himself in the temple and took poison rather than face his enemies.  Robin Williams it is believed took his life because of early diagnosis of Parkinson's plus other ailments of addictions which proved too much a recent event of the news lately.  But let it be known through my own personal observation Parkinson's can be properly treated through modern medicine to the  point of living a near normal life.  Any medical expert can surely correct me if I am off the mark.  Ronn Owens is testifying to the same effect but on a much broader scale.  He is the great talk show host of radio and he is talking.  And by the way he once told me on the air he would sue me if I had wronged him and I bet him on the air that he would.  But let me conclude and end this jabber;  may we find a cure and not just a treatment(which is already a miracle in itself in  modern medicine).

Free Speech at Sproul Hall UC Berkeley

I can imagine what the students there are discussing for the issue is at the hearts and minds of the protesters and the issue at hand is the number of unarmed people of color who were shot by police in this country of America and died.  In 1776  Patrick Henry made a famous speech and in part one famous line said give me liberty or give me death.  Mario Salvio was well known at this place of Sproul Hall of the campus of UC Berkeley; I was not.  I did have one little fling when I was brought to task when I became emotional and blurted out an expression of disagreement when one speaker was speaking of the Christian religion on campus and how it should guide our lives but I knew the University of Berkeley was not church it was not built there for the purpose of worship of a  religious god but there I was involved in a debate with this fiery brimstone of a religious speech making orator but I knew I was there too for a purpose and so I found myself in a debate I shall remember to this day  more than forty years ago.  At that time briefly knew the dean of women Emily Reed who was impressed by my encounter but cautioned me to not participate as the authorities could clearly see the free speech movement as a disruption in student activities.   In high school I was encouraged by my teacher Mr. Lettich or rather called upon to debate an issue with another student the free speech movement which was happening at Cal and so I put my best forward and gave the green light for those who were part of the free speech movement.  My opposition debater  disagreed with me but fellow classmate Donald Sutherland who heard me speak gave me thumbs up for what I had said.  I came to know Mario Salvio as a kind of hero to me a leader of the student union in those days.  He's gone now died in his fifties of a heart failure but I admired him for what he did and what he stood for.  For the first time in many decades I read his famous speech and the nostalgia brings clear sentiment to my eyes.  I just read his speech googled it and remembered it to this day so fondly.  But I can also sympathize with journalist and talk show host Ronn Owens that there are disruptions in our normal flow of traffic with freeways being threatened.   We are on alert.  Ronn Owens and I had talked on various issues of the day throughout the many decades and it was the celebrities that he hosted which I joined in with but mainly to ask a few questions or make comments  thoroughly to my delight.  

Is There A Bad Moon On The Rise?

I'm neither a weatherman but I did meet a local television weatherman mainly because of his name where I kidded him for having the name as that former manager of the Yankees who died in a slide during bad weather from his driveway a very horrible way to die.  His name I now recalled as Billy Martin the same name as our local weatherman which is Bill Martin.   I met him on the air.  And now I've been informed that a storm is coming  and I'd like to hear again from Bill Martin but this time of the news as he reports.  But I played back the song to someone who is seriously warning me of an impending storm and the lyrics to the song I  have studied recently which reads to the tune or to the lyrics "don't go out tonight this storm is bound to take your life there is a bad moon on the rise.  Well it is not going to happen tonight but tomorrow if at all.  But I know the meaning of the lyrics which says don't go out when tomorrow a storm will take your life there is a bad moon on t he rise.  Now this is nothing to joke about when lives are in peril.  But I was told not by a weatherman but by a handyman/property management relative and he sounds serious as is the weather reports I've been receiving.  In the middle of the morning a slight blackout occurred that I had not  experiences for some time lasting for a number of seconds but sent a warning sign through my liver and spine.  Blackouts happen but I haven't experience one for some time.  Is there a bad moon on the rise?  Strong winds are forecasted for tomorrow.  Anyone can google and get this information for tomorrow.  Therefore those who have boats at the Berkeley Marina which I have flown kites at that location I would suggest not going out tomorrow but mind you I am not a weather forecaster I am merely a common man with an opinion who  uses logic to the best of my ability.   Now a large cruise ship in a storm I know little about but I did see the movie….no I'm not going to make things look okay when they may not be.  At times it is better to be too cautious than not at  all.  The yacht  owners of those luxury boats out at the Belvedere Tiburon area of the Marina I would heed the warnings if I had any kind of a boat and even those big rig trucks where I have seen blown over to rest with wheels off the ground completely turned over on the San Rafael Richmond bridge due to high winds.  I've driven those roads to work for several decades and know the winds can blow over a big rig truck.

The Day That Lived In Infamy

We remembered.  America remembers it was that day of December 7, 1941 and I remembered it so well as if I was there that day at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese came in with their planes to attack to seek and destroy and some two thousand lives were lost.  It launched us into World War 11 and the world was at war.  My father Howard Ah-Tye writes about his accounts when he was sent by Uncle Sam(they called the American government back then as Uncle Sam a kind of expression meaning like a kind of big brother looking after the welfare of the citizens.  My father was drafted into the American navy and it was only a day or two days ago I was handling his navy seaman cap a sailor cap that all military seaman were required to wear in that era in 1941.  For me to pretend and be like Norman Mailer and write about the events of the second World War and  produce a best seller book namely The Naked And The Dead would not be appropriate and so I will not.  But I read many accounts of the times we were there in  his book "Resourceful Chinese".  I'm not a journalist like Norman Mailer was and my day of birth was many years after the second world war ended.  Norman Mailer the writer did all that and yes but I did  get a chance to speak to the famed writer shortly before he died  and so I was greatly inspired to be abled to speak to him on a major radio  talk show at the time he was promoting his book  on JFK and the repercussions Lee Harvey Oswald may or may not have had to face.  I'm merely a blogger   where most other big named publishing houses would never let me get my first leg forward for as a person of color I could never show achievement.  In this blog I am given the opportunity to explain why  people like me  have not achieved in the same successful manner that Caucasians (white) people have.  I give a perspective an account of the war between the Japanese people and the American people(primarily white back then) that no other professional journalist would dare to do least we see something to the nature of a Caucasian impersonating a person of color(a kind of Charley Chaplain seen as an Oriental but acted out or portrayed by a Caucasian(white man).  If any of my readers are left confused it is because I haven't driven home my  point.  My intent is to drive it home simply put to make an understanding and if it  takes a blog to do  the job you will come to fully understand.  I can explain(as Ricky Recardo would exclaim in the old TV series I Love Lucy.                                                                                                                                            

Big Brother In The Sky

My kites are only a toy flown by me a retired postal worker.  I'm not writing a theoretical thesis for graduate work for any post graduate academia.  And I am an old man who believes I am young now if I am not lying…let me live my life I want to live and let live.  As an old man playing with a child's toy and flying kites in my backyard obsessed with toys that fly I assembled a structure twenty feet high which you cannot buy at ToyR US or at Target or Sears air or any store.  I made it from scratch and essentially it is or was a basketball pole converted into a flag pole which on occasion I do fly the American flag with pride but essentially it is a kite launcher so instead of a flag on special occasions  like flag day or Vetereans Day I raise a kite on most days and let it out with this extension line which is as long as I want it to be….miles in fact long.

One can clearly see my attention is in the skies and I'm looking up at the skies or the heavens more than the average man or woman on the streets.  And what do I see may you ask?  I see things which the mind can easily trick itself into seeing other things which has no connection to reality;  beware of the prescription medicines which give off side effects.  Could it be these helicopters are patrolling the skies
looking for potential trouble in our crime driven cities?    News reports of businesses being burned by arsonist have been reported    which may have explained the unusual activity going on and I cannot venture into the city with which I was born and raised with the feeling for a peaceful environment.                              

Toy Models Keep Up With The Advancement of Technology

The blog entitled It Never Takes A Genius has been long discontinued.  But as of  today it still remains.  But it was filled with fantasy and events which perhaps should not have been mentioned.  But the attraction for objects that can fly fascinates me and I look upon objects or crafts that can fly with awe.   At first like a child I was fascinated by those little toy electric helicopters that can be controlled through remote control.  Why not I figured since they are massed produced and are affordable to own.

But past experiences have shown they are only  good for smaller spaces indoors.  The ones which are designed for outdoors did not work for me for the four electric helicopters used  outdoors failed.  The reasons were that the slightest breeze was enough to send the electric helicopter out of control.  Each model helicopter cost me roughly one hundred dollars which is much too much for the common man to afford.  Kites have come a long way with various designs and shapes and better capabilities than of yesterday with which to experiment and appreciate what is out there for the man or woman on the go.  Having  found out the hard way by crashing  them so easily I had just forgotten the beauty of these model helicopters flying indoors but was so ever disappointed with their performances outdoors.  Now a kite is an outdoor sport with the craft in flight.  As you noted anything which flies in model form and that which can be controlled be it through kite strings or better still through wire remote  control or the much heard about.  The   time has come and now civilians have access  to the drones.  I'm learning                                                                          
to know more about this technology.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Flying A Craft

As I explained to a neighbor of mine I am interested in crafts that I can fly and control the models of what will be real crafts that  can and will fly.  Such crafts I have in mind I do not see mentioned in the mass media or the mainstream news departments but my interests lead me to visions of what is ahead of us or what can be available for us it is only for us to accept and promote as attempt to envision the concept of cars that fly.  What am I out of my mind?  It's just an old concept already discussed  in the popular movies ; serious stuff minded politician would dare not speak about this sort of thing.  An older mentor of mine who first got me involved in flying those gasoline powered model airplanes  attached to wires for control when I was a teenager has pointed to me a way of another flying model much more advanced in  technology and already proven to be a viable  source to use in industry.  As we are aware of the military aspects applied to drones I will not and cannot write about our nations military secrets already revealed in the news.  In my mind I will attempt to put forth something I never dreamed of and that is fly one of those model drones now available on the open market anyone can order online.  I've already flown those electric model helicopters successful to my satisfaction indoors but   they could not
fly to my satisfaction outdoors although the instructions on the package says it is for outdoors.  But make no mistake about it drones do fly and I think I have the ability to make them fly.  The joy stick is the control mechanism necessary  to  work such a drone is it not?  In order to control such a model craft these types of controls require a skill to  make the craft go up or down turn left or right and the who control ability to work such models  is essentially ever present.  I am acting out the character Richard Dreyfess in the movie Close Encounters of  the Third Kind where he is seen as an obsessed man gone crazy and insane with the need to make models of a mountain site where this UFO is to land and meet earthlings.  Except I am obsessed with the things that fly and flying cars ultimately is a concept in the making which I promote and envision.  I am flying models already and enjoying the beauty of a simple flight of a kite and yes these are only but toys but a drone is serious air craft which shows the way that it is time to look at cars with a serious mind and not just pure science fiction.  Bill
Wattenburg a former professor at UC Berkeley and I  talked about such concepts of flight and as many of know there are already prototypes of these cars already in existence.  To those everyday commuters in cars and I have been one for years don't tell me you enjoy being in traffic jams?  I would say find a way to escape.  The main problem is air traffic control.  As a   realist I confess I may never fly in one of those flying cars is it that far out in the future for me?

Speaking As Journalists

It was Michael Savage I had spoken to on the air one of the most listened to radio talk show hosts not too far from Russ Limbaugh in ratings.  San Francisco isn't such a bad city for learning the craft of the talk show host filled with visions of the news and of journalism.  And so in a round about way I have dealt with professionals  who know the trade of the news while I remain but just the man in the crowd who listens to the news reports in whatever way such news stories capture my  interest and thus I am prepared to discuss the news reports with the closet set of human ears available in my presence from the recreational tennis player to my former co workers and yes I say my former coworkers rather than colleagues where few of them fail to qualify for the Jeopardy Television Quiz show including myself.  In my mind Michael Savage is an intellectual having authored books himself with not a bad success rate.  But I was prepared to give my two cents worth and talk about Norman Mailer in my opinion the most successful and famous writer of my time if not all time because of the modern times he  represented and when growing up in the fifties and sixties I would see  him quite frequently on television and I was at awe the way he spoke about  his ideals as presented on talk shows.  It wasn't just  because he was my favorite writer in fact I never read his works and I read very few books.  But  I did  talk to Norman Mailer on the air which was very important  to me for when I meet a very famous person on the air and succeed in dialogue I feel a sense of  accomplishment as I did when I played tennis.  Winning  more than half your engagements isn't so terrible.

A World Economy Can Succeed

Steven King in my book is the most popular and successful book author my world has ever known second to Norman Mailer the legendary book author of this time.  In this time frame in history Norman Mailer rocked the world and explained his experience in World War 11 receiving overwhelming acceptance by the general public in his first book "The Naked and The Dead" a must read for those who are book worms.  But Steven King is more contemporary and his books carry weight or are very successful as his earlier works.  The public  paid him attention when his fictional book entitled "Carrie" was made into a box office movie smash.  In my opinion any author who can make the list of Simon and Schuster as their publisher has not  only done well but is considered the cream of the crop in my     book.  Putting it bluntly the glass ceiling for Asian males to reach that level of success is virtually impossible  to penetrate as I mentioned to a well known syndicate like talk show host Ken Hamlin but not  now in the talk show circulation.  But  there is a good chance that this statistic may be turned  around for the ever increase immigration flow of ethnic Asians coming into this great land of The United States is ever increasing and they are coming with more skill than ever before.  My points is that many Asians were schooled here in a better educational system than what they could learn in China as I was informed by a fellow Asian and they took such  valuable information and applied it toward the benefit of the all of society.   The well being of the Chinese economy is not just for the Chinese but for the nations of the world;  humankind well benefit as a whole and entire nations will benefit.

The Industrial Revolution

Is this happening already?  The regular mainstream news I hear about as I browse the news from whatever sources come by way speak little of this matter.  But it is clearly on my mind.  Have I gone wild as the wind again as I did with that story for the need for stronger safety in airline commercial aviation.  Yes even I get tired from getting beaten up for wasting people's  valuable  time for such notions.  It was never the popular thought .   No compliment for such an ideal came my way only sticks and stones.

But I  warn you here comes another.  How can we explain how everything made and produced in product  form is made in China.  This is a phenomenon that has struck me as hard as it has anybody else.  I gave my reasons why as many of us have.  The miracle economy of China right now just does not happen all the miracles in my lifetime simply never happen and if one is simulating a miracle growth in the economy of China then this is only a dream and I keep  pinching myself to find out the truth.  Am I dreaming and do not know that I'm living in a dream and not the real world?  China  cannot sustain such a growth as such growths are always followed by a bust.  Witness the housing bust of the real estate market when the  price of some houses were  totally out of the range of many people then followed by  a housing bust and the prices in particular areas fell dramatically.  Witness the fall in prices in certain areas I will not get specific but we know the areas.  It is happening in China as their economy is built on a  total false foundation and soon…no  I won't say the rest for if I do it could happen.  But there are other experts who point this out.  I have no ideal how much longer China's
economy will grow and if it will collapse and  go back into a deflation but  come on do not we see a huge  wave   on the rise but do not even realize it.  A Tsunami one can see it and feel it and record it.  But how does one measure the   start of an Industrial Revolution as it begins?  You don't.  It just happens.  It  wasn't very many years  ago conceivable that a third word country could or ever  would catch up with such superpowers such as America.  Rumors are that China is already the superpower economically having surpassed the United States in terms of productivity and the economy in  their ability to manufacture.  But just look at the living condition of the typical Chinese citizen in China yes there are more rich  in China than ever before but look at the disparity between the two the rich and those struggling to survive.  Isn't the gap huge?

A Former News Talk Caller

The name of this blog I have had for some time may have to change due  to the need as I have learned the term or  name "Journalism Reports" may have already been taken and so changing the name to something like Diary of A Former News Talk Caller" may be more appropriate and more accurate.  I  would not want to be confused with being a  professional journalist which is what I am not although I have dealt with professional news journalists mostly as a caller  to them on the air with some exchanges of E-mail mostly associated with the radio on a news station and I do not represent such a radio station and I am not authorized to use their name.  I am merely giving my two cents worth to the news although this is seriously news business.  A time will come when an Asian journalist will come to point out his views and prospective among the many other established journalist such as Ronn Owen, Russ Limbaugh who excel in radio discussions of the news in a call in format.  Long time news journalist Ray Taliaferro and news talk show  host and I discussed that it was time to have a president of The United States as a person of color and Ray Taliaferro much as my surprised said that oh yes there will be such a person.  At the time I had never heard of Barack Obama but now as most of us know he is well placed in the driver's seat so to speak  as the  President of The United States.  A break in the tradition of the color  of a  very important   official had been made in regard   to the office  of The United States.  I would like to think that an Asian journalist will come out and be known not just as a representative for an Asian country or an American nation but a person with an ethnicity representing all of humanity.  In this manner I see fairness.  Token representatives cannot be tolerated but only well qualified officials should be noted and placed into positions appropriate for the natural order of things to come.  Yes, I must be   out of my mind to make such  a suggestion for there is not one serious candidate to fill such a   position that I can think about.  Come to think of it I admire people like William Hung because he keeps trying despite his failures to even coming close to winning the finals in the singing contests widely known worldwide for his efforts.

A Video of Heaven

Recent polls have indicated eighty per cent of today's population believe in heaven.  Havard educated neurosurgeon Eben Alexander claims he has seen heaven when he went into a coma and came back according to a news story on ABC TV channel seven.  As an occasional news talk caller mostly in my past to KGO 810 radio you might ask how did I come up with this story?  Don't we need  concrete evidence that indeed there is a heaven as well as a hell?  We know that millions of Christians have  known Jesus who died and rose and went to heaven.  He was resurrected as believed by Christians  But I asked Google to show a video of heaven and what I got were the same kinds of videos I take  almost everyday and there is no doubt that heaven exists up above earth's grounds for I have video proof that  heaven exists there was not a need for Google to post videos of heaven in any of the web sites.  Although I am a grown man now and not a child anymore I still get this glee that mostly children only get when they spot a grown up playing with a toy in this case a kite and where else  could such a kite exist but in heaven and I have proof and living testimony  that theses kites have the ability  to fly low enough or high enough far out of sight beyond human sight can capture.  The next news story I cannot report about first hand as it followed  into the now much discussed news story of the ebola disease which has reached America recently and killing at least one person.  This story  of an ebola death may not be one hundred  per cent accurate but journalists are investigating.  I must remind my readers I only write a blog and it pertains to the news I am not a journalist or a reporter.  My readers should not be deceived that I am merely expressing a feeling or a reaction from what the professional journalist tell me in the media and I am a consumer of the news much like everybody else.  I still have not forgotten about my chess  game and look forward to returning to the game but will from time to time think about the significant news stories in chess and write about it.

When A Magnificent City Is Struck Again It Could Only Yawn

San Francisco is a great city.  I ought to know I was there on my own after a long absence of recuperation from a marathon series of chess games.  No, I am not any smarter than I was before just more aware of the more intelligent chess players out there.   What I do keep professing which no body can deny is that a marathon bicycle ride would make a fat and ugly person slim down and look much better.  As I keep harping about is that have you ever seen a fat marathon bicycle rider before?  No you have not because they do not exist.  Google chess and scroll down several web sites and there you will see my four year or so long experiences of playing several thousand games of chess and more agony than ecstasy.  That is why I need this rest from chess or maybe just maybe I can say no mass which is what a prize fighter said after he consumed an entire steak and was too bloated to fight in one of the biggest boxing matches ever.  Roberta Duran was his name come to think of it.  And I say no more torture when I play the game of chess it should for pure pleasure rather than the anguish the game brings when a loss is at hand.  One does not have to win all the time it would be not a sport therefore  to win most of the time is not a sin any of the time.  I was so hungry and eager to feast my eyes upon such a beautiful and magnificent city by the bay that this impression will stay with me for a long time to come that is if my fate is willing to continue.  Death is closer to me than ever before  but fear not I've been wrong so many times before.  If this was my  first time out on my own to venture the city of San Francisco the beautiful city as I witnessed it yesterday by car after a very long period of  recuperation from the stress and strain of playing on line chess then way was there an accent by mother nature and a distinct earthquake later in the night of a 6.o  If you  switched on to radio 810 if KGO you might find disappointment as I did when no one calls in to a local radio station like before and reports an earthquake.  Listen up people people do get scared and they want to know from their neighbors what they are experiencing.  Was the end of the world commencing?  In due time to come I will tell you of the  beautiful things I had encountered.  It is happening in the great city of San Francisco and God forbid should another earthquake like the one in 1906 happen or a  greater one strike?  The city as I recalled was destroyed by fire.  The entire city was brought to ruin.  But this time it didn't do it.  A magnificent city still stands today.

My father was and is the expert on this matter.  He was the father I idolized as I grew older and realized what I had.  I would never dare ask my father if he ever thought the Chinese were discriminated in mainstream America.  That would be like asking my Catholic friends if the Pope were Catholic.  I ran across a few Catholics in my life but not enough to know better and ask a coworker when I first arrived to work in Belvedere/Tiburon if the Pope were Catholic.  I was looked upon with the most incredible look….astounding.  This blog will not be a book on whether the Chinese have been discriminated upon  throughout the history of the United States of America.  The fact has already been established when I googled the question to Google whether the Chinese in America have ever been discriminated against.  The tricky part about writing this blog on the news is  that I have been instructed by my mentors not to get personal when writing anything.  I do  know robots are getting into everything like production and replacing top chess players and blue collar workers to even writing and there is no way I can envision a writing machine getting personal.  The top writing idol of mine besides Norman Mailer is Ann Frank perhaps the greatest writer of all time in my opinion.  She became a great writer because she kept a little girl's diary and she was so personal with this  diary that it became the  giant of all stories told.  If I had a good strong will I would hide my first and last name from any blog as I did start out as being anonymous but somehow through the adventures of being a hobbyist at writing this blog my name got out.   Google knows everything…well…almost.  My question as I have so often posed for the famous people seen as guest speakers on radio shows will be posed to the readers of this blog.  Will the Chinese ever be seen as equals?  Or will they be forever remained as the yellow peril an invading force of undesirable aliens hated and despised by  the races particularly the white race?   I always thought one of the greatest Presidents of The United States of America was quoted as saying that all men are created  equal and a great war where we lost the most war casualties  of all times was in the great American Civil War?   He did pretty good for himself if you ask me for he  got his picture on a five dollar bill.  How many people I ask you my readers do you know who have their pictures on a coin or a bill?

Cars For Consumers That Fly No Longer Science Fiction

It was on the news and no it just wasn't about  the record setting summer heat of the day that made it for me but it was the little known news report on a local news station that caught my   attention a news story that I've  been quite excited about for some time.  I know  what people are thinking that such an invention is pure science fiction and hardly worth taking a serious look at it and make it an issue.  But my head is bursting with solid information not just wild eyed stories with no facts.  Is it not way past the      prime time to come on out with   the truth?  Anyone can google the web site on their very own computer.  And it is true masses of people are  not running down to their local dealership to place an order for  their flying car….not just yet.  At over two hundred thousand dollars for such a craft I just don't see a sudden rush for these car that fly not  just yet.  We are closer than ever if not right on the ticket where  the market is open to consumers when it is an opportunity or not to make a    buy for an auto that can fly in this case a car that has wings which fold up when not in the air.  I cannot wait for teleportation to come around  but I've no choice it isn't coming any time soon.

Racism

The  professional journalist know the story.  I can only comment on what is said and what my views are be it right or wrong.  But I must stay true to the facts least I distort the truth and make a mockery of such an ongoing story.  So you might ask why do I write and speak of this news story if I know so little of  it?  This news story of a basketball owner is so huge that not even I can avoid the story as it will be in our faces whether we want it to be or not.  We  cannot forget the O.J. story in as much as I  tried to shut it out  of my mind but ultimately I could not.  I found myself  actually being on the air on a major news talk show talking on the air with a few of the major players speaking about  the case after it was all over.  I will discuss this case further on down in this blog.  But right now we are involved in a case in which a man of power and ownership is involved in an accusation of racism but it will not go away from you nor myself and of course we all have our feelings.  This story I am about to discuss  will be relevant.

Norman Mailer

I think about Norman Mailer from time to time.  If anything his name would be the most appropriate in my mind to report upon and I had just googled him and learned a few things I never knew about him.  I didn't know he was considered a journalist I just knew him as a writer of books especially his run away best seller.  Would he not be an inspiration to me nowadays?  One might think so.  He was the first celebrity I had called upon as a then news talk show caller to a radio news talk show.  Ronn Owens was the news talk show host out here in the West Coast of the famous city of San Francisco.  I was told he gets more listeners out here than the most listen to radio talk show host Russ Limbaugh the conservative talk show host.  It never dawned on me that I had thought about being a writer as I read a letter I had sent to a minister about my dream of becoming a writer.

It is  a grand opportunity to meet him in person.  Yes, I agree it would have been the best thing in my life to meet Norman Mailer in person and then I would have known more what it might be like to be a real journalist.  Ronn Owens however did meet him in person but then again it was special for me to speak with him and be broadcast on the radio after all he was the famous writing star while I was involved at the time he made his appearance as just a talk show caller unknown to anyone.  No, I'm not making this up.  Coworker Larry Cummins was working on a house he was  building in addition to being a LSM operator as I had done for eighteen years being quite familiar with the chosen news talk radio station. Larry Cummins recalled my conversation with the greatest writer of all time and I a nobody talking on the air as an insignificant listener to the radio station who happened to pick up the phone to ask Norman Mailer what he proposes to write about if there were more killers like Lee Harvy Osward the man accused of the assignation of JFK.  It was not too many months ago when the seasoned comedy specialist Brian Copeland was asking various members of the audience how they felt regarding this rare occasion of one of our beloved leaders of this country of the United States of America.

Machines Are The Fantasy Of The Mind

The man responsible for my blog writing is named Marty Nemko a radio host who worked for a news station in the San Francisco area.  As one of callers interested in finding a possible career I called up his show and he advised me look into writing a blog since journal writing or diary writing had been a hobby of mine for decades and I have been an occasional caller to the news talk show on the radio news shows.  Hobbies tend to take people to very strange  places in many strange  ways.  But note  how some of these ancient old hobbies are changing pace in a very accelerating manner for instance my blog on chess has been drastically changed by the Internet  where a human legendary chess champion is no longer the reigning player any more but instead a machine playing chess machine.  My blog or this blog covers much more than chess but various aspects of the news as I have witnessed it and one of  the aspects of the news is the music world.  In my next sentence I will go right to the point.  Can machines replace the human rock stars or the human music entertainer?

Having been raised and home grown in Oakland California I had become familiar with the sounds of the 70's where boom boxes ruled and the bigger the box the bigger the boom.  But today I carry a small box the size of a lighter in my small vest pocket to play tunes  that I have played on my own musical synthesizer with the tunes I have come to know and love the best.  In this case the sound of a trumpet is my favorite musical sound although it isn't as popular as before.  At first I didn't like it as it sounded too tinny and toy like just plain artificial.  But now the sound has become reliable and dependable and is the most powerful selection on my synthesizer with the sound being projected as far as a block away on a tiny voice recorder this selected sound of the trumpet.  The sound coming from this tiny box penetrates the air with an impact far greater than what any boom box can do.  If the sound were turned up high in public the user of this device could be held liable maybe a block party would be more suitable.  Some of us might remember the famed piano star Liberace.  My prediction is that a team of dexterous piano operators just might likely outperform a human music talent or star just as we saw when a chess playing machine called Deep Blue outperformed a human  grandmaster ranked number one at one time in a match the world looked on at in wonder.  Take a look at some of these sophisticated synthesizers out on the market can they outperform some of the best human musicians?  Some of the best vocalists are the ones who can instill emotion into their act but can an electronic piano keyboard or a synthesizer display emotion at the right precise time in a tune?   By the way a very young fellow by the name of Magnus Carlsen is the reigning chess champion ranked number one and I favor him over any chess playing computer no matter how skilled and proficient the computer/machine may be.    Magnus Carlsen learned through using computers and would one not think that computers will continue to teach us something worthwhile?

Launch A Kite

When I was a child flying kites I never heard of a kite launcher not even on television.  But that soon changed when I found that running with the kite was and is not now my special talent or gift now that I have Parkinson's and cannot run with the speed and agility of a rated and ranked tennis player in the small local tennis tournaments.  But I can still fly kites and enjoy it as much as when I was a young boy running about  the fields like a jack rabbit.  With the way I rigged up a kite launcher in my backyard not  knowing if such a rig or device existed since I googled for one at the time but found none I proceeded to design and make my own essentially a twenty foot tall flag pole but with a kite instead of a fly with the attached line for string or rope depending on the size of the kite.  Large kites pull so hard a rope is more desired for gripping.  Such a kite launcher already was invented not by me as the configurations for the information as I was told had not been worked out exactly.   But use a kite launcher if you can't run anymore and be happy observing all the safely rules avoiding  power lines and mean old neighbors who don't want you trespassing on their property trying to retrieve down kites.  In my other blog It Never Takes A Genius I drew an illustration of a Harrier Jet and showed a bomber could be outfitted with the jet propulsion thrusters turned in the same way a Harrier jet has their jet thrusters positioned.  The ideal is to get a bomber off the ground without the need for a runway much in the same fashion a Harrier jet takes off from the ground like a helicopter.  Now go  ahead launch a bomber with a jet launcher and be happy but  watch for enemy  incoming craft and missiles waiting to take you down.  But  don't do this home alone the military branches of the United States of America are equipped to do this.

As for cars that will fly when and where I   have no ideal.  But they will fly it is just right  now such news isn't big news not just yet.  I already discussed this flight of cars on the air with Dr. Bill Wattenberg a   former physics professor at UC Berkeley and this was not a joke.  Yes I  can write about science fiction I am not the first to do so tell me about the movie "Back To Future" starring Michael J. Fox  and that was a long time ago.  It is time we start thinking again and get our vehicles out of the rut and into the sky just anywhere but the ditches!  Are the inventors and designers of such craft listening?

When We Fly

I doubt the Wright Brothers ever used a hang glider but I did read that they flew kites.  I may have to take this video down writing blogs requires a continuous learning but I'd rather not have to learn the hard way.  Abiding the terms and conditions is important to me and any violations of the copyright rules and regulations will be corrected I make no profit by writing this blog and do not make an income by writing this.  I wish the creator of this posted video an enhancement and pride in this creation of this video and all credit due him.  Flying in a hang glider is not a dream of mine but  more of a wild eyed dream I have not the wherewithal  nor the courage to take off in such a wing craft only to control a kite sometimes mistaken by the unknowing for a hang glider as one of my kites is one of the larger  kind and I use a  rope rather than a string to control it.  A simple thing like a kite in flight and launching it from a kite launcher in a small area where a large runway is not practical is enough to  capture my inspiration and imagination as I admire the beautiful blue skies and the birds which soar up above into the clouds and over the rainbow.   I predict cars will fly as we approach consumer demand for such vehicles and this is more than science fiction now.  There are already prototypes of cars which do fly and as many of us can see it is only inevitable that cars will fly in mass numbers with air traffic control doing more than directing airplanes.

I'm so confused it is no wonder that I never considered or at least never submitted an application to the school of journalism.  A professional journalist would never write in the manner I am writing which is often cynical of the way the establishment is and often I take a lighter side maybe even comical in the way I see our world after all this isn't just my world but our world I must share it with my fellow humans.  I did google a very important message to Google our beloved and most popular engine search so that I may get to the facts as close to that truth as possible.   No one should read this journal if I'm going half cocked and reporting on the story with intense fabrications and total lies.  It would never sell. Come to think of it there are some tabloids which make outrageous profits by doing so but that is just not me I'm here all alone minus the corporate power enabling me to become an all powerful entity or to put it simply…important.  I would love to be superman by the twilight hours and Clark Kent by day and report the most relevant news stories and thus maybe even gainfully employed.  When will the Chinese wake up and confess that to challenge the American space  programs is silly folly Yee is where  I  descended from and my last name isn't Wong and I  should be so right about my point.  The white boys have it all they began with the Wright Brothers which the right name invented the airplane and yes they flew kites and they were the first to fly an airplane plain and simple.  The Chinese didn't do it.  But give the Chinese credit for inventing gunpowder and  for inventing printing.  I'm so forgetful nowadays having Parkinson's I tried to become a good candidate for deep brain stimulation but because I did not quality and pass with high marks in the cognitive testing I cannot seek this remedy to combat this dreaded disease of Parkinson's. But some of the time I know what I'm speaking about in this case writing about because I know what the Chinese are thinking.  The Chinese are so wrong in thinking that they could equal the American Space Program let alone surpass them.  The Chinese are so infamous for their failures that they will never come to know what a dynasty is and if they ever did have one the world has long forgotten because it has been so long since they did have one.  Oh my God is this issue now more confusing?  What I am driving at it is simply the facts and the truth nothing more and nothing less.
